2012 Summer Reading Programs KICK-OFF CARNIVAL Monday, July 2 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. What a great way to kick offsummer reading at the Plainedge Public Library! Play games & win prizes. Make a craft & see other surprises. It will bea fun time for all. Jason Reilly will be back once again with his popular "Frogs Bugs & Animals" program. Carnival rain date scheduled for Friday, July 6, 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. Come to the Children's Services Department to pick up your tickets after you register for Summer Reading Programs beginning Monday, June 11.DREAM BIG,READ! SUMMER READING CLUB 2012 Children entering 2nd through 5th grades as of September 2012 may participate. Children read at home. They come back to the Library once a week (Tuesday or Thursday) for reporting, stickers, and prizes. The Club begins on Tuesday, July 10 and ends with the final session on Thursday, August 2. Club members will be invited to a special performance in August.LITTLE DREAMERS READ-TO-ME CLUB 2012 Infants to children entering 1st grade in September 2012 may participate.All reading is done at home between adult and child together. Parents and children come back once a week on Wednesdays during scheduled times with reading charts for stickers and prizes. Read- To-Me Clubbegins Wednesday, July 11 and ends on Wednesday, August 1. Participants are invited to a special performance in August.SHINING STARS PICTURE BOOK STORY TIME 2012 Children 2 years of age by June 30 2012 through those entering 1st grade as of September 2102 may participate. Picture Book Story Time begins on Wednesday, July 11 and ends on Wednesday, August 1. There will be 3 times to choose from during the day. Sign-upin progress... Join us as we visit fabulous North Shore estates! First stop, the Castle on the Hill. Enjoy light refreshments after the tour. Our next destination is a Tudor style Manor home in Mill Neck overlooking LI Sound. From Garden to Venetian Fountain, through the 400 year old doors to the Shakespearean stained glass window, this special Manor house is our setting for lunch. Included with the tour, we enjoy either the delectable Periwinkle's famous chicken wrap (apricot, cranberry and toasted almonds) or the roasted vegetable & goat cheese wrap, a unique salad & homemade cookies. After lunch we continue on to Coe Hall Mansion! Limit 50. Approx. return home 6:30 PM.
