More Summer Reading Program Volunteers Needed!! Friday May 1, 2015 -  Saturday June 6, 2015     For Plainedge School district students grades 6th & up. The Children`s Services Department could use more volunteers for our fun & busy Summer Reading programs. We need volunteers during the daytime on Tuesdays, Wednesday & Thursdays during the month of July. If you are interested, stop by Children`s Services to pick up an application beginning Tuesday, May 26 after 1:00PM . There are limited numbers of spots available and we will take completed applications on a first come, first serve basis. For further details, contact the Children`s Services Staff at 735-4133 X12. If this information is is not provided, we will not be able to contact you in a timely manner about cancellations or changes. Any online registration without a phone number and email address is now considered incomplete. If your registration is not complete, we reserve the right to give the spot to another child on the waiting list.

2015 Summer Reading Programs Preview - Every Hero Has A Story Friday May 15, 2015 -  Monday July 13, 2015     MEGA READERS SUMMER READING CLUB (For children entering 2nd through 5th grades)  - - -  Club members read at home.  They come back to the Library once a week (during scheduled times on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) with reading charts and report forms for reporting, stickers, and prizes.  The Club begins on Tuesday, June 30 and ends with the final session on Thursday, July 23.  Club members will be invited to a special performance in August. SUPER SIDEKICKS READ-TO-ME CLUB (For infants up to children entering 1st grade)  -  -  -  All reading is done at home between adult and child together.  Parents and children come back once a week (during scheduled times on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) with reading charts for...

Preschool Playgroup Tuesday June 2, 2015 -  Tuesday June 9, 2015 10:00 AM  -  11:15 AM     Ages 3-5 years with accompanying adult. Join us for creative movement, dance, and plenty of playtime for your child. Parents and caregivers need to stay and participate with their children. Child needs to be at least 3 years old by June 2 to participate. No unregistered siblings with the exception of infants, please. Kevin Stiegelmaier, author of Canoeing and Kayaking New York and Paddling Long Island, will discuss the “do’s and dont’s” associated with the sport. Fathers` Day Cookie Decorating Saturday June 6, 2015 3:00 PM  -  4:00 PM     For children in grades K-5 only. This is a drop off program.
